1.0 Introduction

We collect some of your personal information to allow you to use the SpringUp website and other services we provide (collectively, our “Services). By using our Services, you enter into a legally binding agreement with us, and give us consent to use your information as detailed in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to such terms, please do not access or otherwise use our website and other services.

2.0 What information do we collect and how do we use it?

2.1 REGISTRATION DATA AND CONTACT DETAILS

When you register as a SpringUp Member, we collect personal information we ask you to provide as registration data, including as your email address, full name, login name and password. We may also collect further information you voluntarily add to your account details, such as your mobile phone number/s or address. We will store your registration data as a means of identifying you as a Member and identifying all your activities on our website (including online purchases of our Services) as yours. As a SpringUp Member, your full name and login name will be made publicly available to all those visiting the website by default.

Your registration data and other personal information provided may be used to:

  • contact you for notices related to our Services;

  • provide and personalise our Services to you; or

  • analyse your use of our Services in order to identify how we can improve Members’ experience of our Services.

We may share your registration data and other personal information with third parties, as outlined in Section 3.0.

2.2 BUSINESS PROFILE DETAILS

After you register as a SpringUp member, you will have the option to voluntarily provide information about you or your business in a “profile”, which (as outlined in the Terms and Conditions of Use) will be made publicly available to all others by default. Profiles are designed to give others’ insight to the core and key selling points of your business, and may include:

  • Photos of you, others and/or your business

  • Your business’ name

  • Your and others’ name and/or title/role in the business

  • Descriptions you add about you and your business (including core offerings and work folios)

  • Business contact details (e.g. business phone numbers, address, email, website)

  • Social media accounts (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)

  • Testimonials and other comments

  • Your credentials; and

  • Terms and promotions offered by your business.

You provide information for inclusion in your profile at your discretion. Please ensure you understand and accept our Terms and Conditions of Use regarding information included in profiles.

The information you have included in your profile will be stored by us, and may be published and otherwise used to:

  • provide and personalise our Services to you;

  • enable and promote our Services, including sharing your profile and activity with other Members or on social media channels, helping others find and follow you to promote your business, or to promote other Members and help you find and follow their business profiles; and

  • identify how we can improve or extend the services we offer to you.

Regardless of the type of membership you hold, and to what extent your profile is completed, we may share the information you provide to include in your profile with third parties, as outlined in Section 3.0.

If you purchase our profile writing services, we will collect details about you or your business to develop your profile. You understand that to provide our services (as detailed in Section 3.0), any details about you or your business which you agree to provide us as part of this service may be shared with third parties (including business partners) without your further consent. These third parties will most likely be comprised of writing service providers who will assist in the composition of your profile.

Social media channels

SpringUp uses social media channels (including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) to share promotions, make announcements, and engage with existing and prospective customers. As expressed above, we may share any of the contents of your business profile on such social media channels for these purposes. By submitting personal information, images, comments or any other content for public display on our website, you agree that this information may be available to any other person. Please refer to the separate social media channels’ privacy policies to see how they may collect and/or use your personal information. We are not responsible for the information handling practices of social media.

2.3 PAYMENT INFORMATION

All payments for all purchases made on our website are processed through PayPal (a third party website and service), using their “recurring payments” and “one-time payments” facilities. Any payments you make through PayPal, and any information submitted in making payments, will also be subject to its Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions of Use. Please refer to these to understand how they will collect, store and/or use your payment information.

Any payment information (including, but not limited to, PayPal account details, credit card details and billing information) you provide through our website to PayPal can be accessed, processed and analysed by us. We will also collect and store data about your transaction history.

The payment information described above may be used to:

  • process payments to us, send invoices, or store invoice information in order to provide our Services to you;

  • automatically associate your payment information with your account for future transactions;

  • track and analyse data about your transactions with us; or

  • analyse your use of our Services in order to identify how we can improve Members’ experience of our Services.

We may share your payment information with third parties, as outlined in Section 3.0.

2.4 USAGE AND ACTIVITY LOG

When you use our Services, we automatically collect certain information about this usage and activity, including:

  • information of your type of membership and your activity within the Services (such as communication with other Members, viewing and following of other Members’ Profiles, Third Party Applications, and promotions, products and services offered, linked to, or made available on our website);

  • details of the queries you make or contact us with; or

  • technical data, which may include your IP address, your browser type, language and other identifying information.

We may use cookies to collect this information. This information may be stored and used to:

  • provide and personalise our Services to you;

  • analyse your use of our Services in order to identify how we can improve Members’ experience of our Services;

  • enable and promote our Services, including sharing your profile and activity with other Members, helping others find and follow you to promote your business, or to promote other Members and help you find and follow their business profiles; and

  • identify how we can improve or extend the services we offer to you.

We may share your usage and activity data with third parties, as outlined in Section 3.0.

3.0 Sharing your information with third parties

In order to provide you with our Services, we may share your personal information with third parties. These third parties may include, but are not limited to, payment vendors or processors, technical consultants, mailing systems and service providers, and writers. Any information shared with these third parties are subject to their Privacy Policy, and any interactions with these third parties are subject to their Terms and Conditions. We are not held responsible for how these third parties will handle your information.

We may share your personal information with third parties without your further consent for the following purposes:

  • to enable and provide our Services

  • to use in addressing court orders, legal matters and judicial processes;

  • to protect the safety of any person;

  • to protect our rights and property; and

  • to protect against or address fraud, security or technical issues.

  • to promote our Services through a third party medium, or through a website, application or other organisation that is not a social media channel and that is not already associated or affiliated with us.

4.0 Security

4.1 LOGIN DETAILS

While we take care to ensure the security of your account and personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy, we do not guarantee the security of your login details (such as your login name and password) and other user information at all times. Your account is protected by your password. It is entirely your responsibility to choose a strong password and maintain its confidentiality.

4.2 CHILDREN

Members sign up for our Services under an agreement to the term that they are at least 14 years old (or the minimum age required by their country of residence for us to lawfully provide them our services). We do not knowingly collect and store any personal information from persons under 14 years old. If such information is discovered to be stored, we will delete it.

Modifications to the Privacy Policy

We may, at our discretion and at any time, make changes to any part of our Privacy Policy. Any changes to the Privacy Policy are effective once notice of the changes are posted. By continuing to use our Services after those changes are made, you express and acknowledge acceptance of the changes.
